4. Farmhouse Weekly Meal Planner with a Peg System

Instead of writing your meals each week, this board uses wooden pegs and small tags you swap out. It takes a bit more effort upfront, but you’ll never rewrite “Taco Tuesday” again.
Materials: a long plank (about 30 inches), seven small wooden pegs or dowel pins, wood glue, a drill with a bit sized to your dowels, wooden tags or cardstock squares, and stencils or a fine brush for lettering.
How to build it: Mark seven evenly spaced holes across the plank with a pencil and ruler. Drill the holes partway through — not all the way — so the pegs sit snugly. Glue the pegs in and let them set. Paint or stencil the days of the week above each peg. Create a set of meal tags using wooden blanks or laminated cardstock, punch a hole in each, and hang them from the pegs.
Customization: Make tags in categories — proteins, sides, cuisines — so you can build meals by mixing and matching. Families with young kids sometimes add a “kid’s choice” tag that rotates weekly.
Time: about two hours, including painting. Difficulty: beginner with basic drilling skills.
