9. Terra Cotta Pot Snowman

Stack three terra cotta pots upside down and you have an instant snowman form that’s sturdy enough for the porch. This project has a garden-meets-winter charm that works especially well on a covered entryway or sunroom.
Materials: three terra cotta pots in graduated sizes (e.g., 2-inch, 3-inch, 4-inch), white acrylic paint, black and orange paint, a small paintbrush, and optional embellishments like a fabric scarf, twig arms, and a mini top hat.
Instructions: Paint all three pots white and let them dry completely. Paint a face on the smallest pot: two black eyes, an orange carrot nose, and a black smile. Paint buttons on the middle pot. Glue the pots together in a stack, largest on the bottom, smallest on top. Add a scarf around the neck (between the top and middle pot) and twig arms if desired.
Time: 30–40 minutes plus drying. Difficulty: Easy. Customization: Use chalk paint for a matte finish, add a battery-operated tea light inside the top pot for a glow, or paint snowflakes on the bottom pot. Display: Place on a porch step, patio table, or beside a fireplace. Budget alternative: Use plastic pots from a dollar store. Helpful tip: If you’re displaying outdoors, seal with a clear acrylic spray to protect the paint from moisture.
