7. Cotton Ball Snowman Craft

7
This is a wonderful project for little hands. Cotton balls glued onto a cardboard base create a fluffy, textured snowman that looks like fresh powder. It’s inexpensive, mess-friendly, and endlessly charming.

Materials: cardboard or a paper plate, white school glue, cotton balls (about 30–40), construction paper in black and orange, googly eyes, and a small piece of fabric for a scarf.

Instructions: Cut a snowman shape from cardboard—three circles stacked. Cover the shape with glue and press cotton balls closely together until the entire surface is covered. Cut a black top hat from construction paper and glue it on top. Add googly eyes, an orange paper carrot nose, and a black paper smile. Tie a fabric scarf around the neck.

Time: 20–30 minutes. Difficulty: Beginner (great for ages 3+ with supervision). Customization: Use colored cotton balls, add glitter, or make a whole family of snowmen in different sizes. Display: Tape to a window, hang on the fridge, or prop on a shelf. Budget alternative: Use recycled cardboard from cereal boxes. Helpful tip: Dip cotton balls in a little water-diluted glue and let them dry for a firmer, less fuzzy finish.
