6. Wine Glass Snowman Candle Holder

An inverted wine glass becomes a charming snowman when you add a few simple details. This is an elegant, grown-up take on snowman decor that works beautifully on a holiday dinner table or as a hostess gift.

Materials: one clear wine glass, white acrylic paint or white puffy paint, black and orange paint, a tea light or small votive candle, and optional ribbon or twine.

Instructions: Turn the wine glass upside down so the bowl becomes the snowman’s body and the base becomes the hat. Paint the bowl white, leaving the base clear or painting it black for a top hat. Once dry, paint on a face and buttons. Tie a ribbon around the stem (which is now the neck) for a scarf. Place a tea light on the flat base (now the top of the hat) or inside the bowl if you prefer a glow from within—just ensure the candle is battery-operated if you’ve painted the glass.

Time: 20–30 minutes plus drying. Difficulty: Easy. Customization: Use colored glass for a vintage look, add a tiny broom made from a twig and bristles, or paint snowflakes on the hat. Display: Line up three at different heights on a mantel or dining table. Budget alternative: Dollar store wine glasses work perfectly. Common mistake: Using real candles with painted glass—the paint can bubble or catch fire. Stick to battery-operated.
