9. Popsicle Stick Reindeer Photo Frame

9
Grandparents adore this one. Four popsicle sticks make a small square frame, and the reindeer face sits on top holding a photo of someone they love.

What you need: jumbo popsicle sticks, brown paint, googly eyes, a red pom-pom, twigs or pipe cleaners, a magnet or a ribbon loop, and a small photo.

Glue four sticks into a square and let it set. Paint it brown. Add a triangle of sticks or a single horizontal stick across the top for the reindeer’s head, then decorate with eyes, nose, and antlers. Trim a photo to fit the back and tape it in place, then add a magnet, a ribbon loop, or a small easel stand.

Time: 25 minutes. Difficulty: beginner, ideal for ages five and up with help on the glue.

Kids can make one for each grandparent, and the slightly crooked ones are the ones that get kept. Swap the photo each year for a fresh refrigerator display, or use a tiny printed photo of the family pet for a laugh.
