7. Bedside Dressing Table Extension
If your bed is pushed against a corner or a wall, you can extend the vanity concept right alongside it. By using a long, narrow dressing table that runs parallel to the bed, you create a “run” of furniture that serves both as a nightstand and a long vanity. This placement works exceptionally well in very long, narrow rooms where you don’t have enough width to have a separate vanity area. It keeps the center of the room clear and creates a cohesive, high-end look that feels like a boutique hotel layout.
How to Make
Choose a long, slim console that is roughly the same height as your bed or a few inches higher. Place it along the wall next to your bed. One end of the table acts as your nightstand for a lamp and book, while the other end acts as your vanity, with a mirror mounted above it. Use a stool that can be tucked under the vanity end. By maintaining a single long line of furniture, you minimize visual clutter. Ensure the mirror is placed far enough from the “nightstand” end so that you aren’t staring at yourself while you are trying to wind down for sleep.
