A snowman suncatcher is a beautiful craft that allows children to combine art with science. Hanging a suncatcher in a window creates a magical effect as light passes through the colors.

Materials Needed:

  • Contact paper
  • Tissue paper (white, orange, black, and other colors for accessories)
  • Scissors
  • Construction paper for backing

Instructions:

  1. Cut a snowman shape out of contact paper.
  2. Tear or cut tissue paper into small pieces and place them on the sticky side of the contact paper to fill in the snowman’s body.
  3. Add details such as a hat, scarf, buttons, and eyes with colored tissue paper.
  4. Place another layer of contact paper on top to seal the snowman.
  5. Attach construction paper for stability if needed and hang in a window to catch the sunlight.
